More Millionare Mindset Musings

The more I study and read about wealth creation, and wealth creation strategies, the more apparent it becomes that - Its ALL in the mind!
As Napoleon Hill says in his book “Think and Grow Rich”, Thoughts are things. In my studies, I have found that Mindset cannot be over-emphasized. I would go so far as to say that without the right Mindset, there is no way that “one” can become wealthy. Mindset is crucial, mindset is everything. A simple example would be “cluttered environment, cluttered mind.

I started life again aged 38, arriving in Australia with two sons, four suitcases, a very rickety laptop and $1000 USD in my pocket – I had but one choice – make a go of it, or curl up and give up. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately for me, I have a character trait that will not allow me to give up (secretly, in my own mind I think I am probably too stupid to know WHEN to give up, or when I am beaten). Jokingly, I tell people that I am a “self-made man”, and I owe absolutely no-one, anything for my complete lack of success, I started out with nothing and still have most of it left, that I felt that my sole purpose in life was to serve as a horrible warning to others and that I have the uncanny ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
While I may have been “joking” while I made those statements, I think that there was an element of belief that they were, at least in part true. These “thoughts” or beliefs about myself had a negative impact on my attempts at success. I bring this up to contrast being a “failure” if you like, and the associated thought processes that go hand in hand with a lack of success, and the mindset of a winner, of a success. I made up my mind after arriving in Australia, that I didn’t like failure, I didn’t like being beaten into the shape that the world wants me, and decided that there had to be a better way, and I was going to find out that way.

Perhaps my first discovery in my Wealth Creation Study was that I had some really “stinking thinking”.

Perhaps the entire conclusion of this report could be summarized in the following statement –

“The subject of Wealth Creation is huge, it encompasses not only the financial aspect of one’s life, but the mental, spiritual, and physical areas as well. To be truly successful, one requires balance in all areas of life and the pursuit only of financial wealth without covering the other areas is likely to prove unsuccessful or seriously imbalanced, creating further problems in other areas of life. The critical aspect is that – It all starts and is IN the mind.”

I write, I believe with un-challenged authority on this, not as a shining example of what to do, but as a spectacular failure, and a pristine example of WHAT NOT TO DO. Having made some truly momentous “stuff-ups” and having had what I believed to be “the reverse Midas touch”, I know that to move forward, I have had to do a 180 degree about turn and do everything completely different to the way that I normally do things. My turn around BEGAN IN MY MIND. I had to mentally reject the negative thought processes and begin the painful process of self examination and to look at myself honestly, to look at an analyze my failures and to accept my responsibility in where I found myself. Painful, but necessary. I found in my self analysis, that all experiences (good or bad), failures and successes can be used to learn from. In looking into my past, I considered people that I had met that were ‘successful’ in some way or another – I recall training in a martial art called Tai Chi and was astounded that the finer proponents of the art were relatively small and not particularly strong, but they were highly effective and certainly not to be trifled with – the only difference I could see (apart from a remarkable talent for being able to butt-kick) was a single minded determination to suceed and a self confidence that I could not explain.
I am not yet a roaring sucess, but have come on in leaps and bounds.... watch this space, watch this face. Idea and strategies for improvement would be greatly appreciated. For now, I have found another free eBook - "Conversations With Millionaries" that can be downloaded by clicking the link. www.wealthcreationstudy.com/serv03.htm
